Recipe: Chocolate Raspberry Tart

Indulge in the sweetness of friendship with this decadent Chocolate Raspberry Tart, perfect for sharing with your gal pals on Galentine’s Day:

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup cold unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup raspberry jam
  • Fresh raspberries, for garnish
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions:

  1. In a food processor, combine the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, and salt. Pulse until well combined.
  2. Add the cold butter pieces to the flour mixture and pulse until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg yolk and vanilla extract. With the food processor running, gradually add the egg yolk mixture to the flour mixture until the dough comes together.
  4. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently until smooth. Shape the dough into a disk, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  5. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Roll out the chilled dough on a lightly floured surface to fit a 9-inch tart pan. Press the dough into the bottom and up the sides of the pan, trimming any excess.
  6. Prick the bottom of the tart shell with a fork and line it with parchment paper. Fill the tart shell with pie weights or dried beans and bake for 15 minutes.
  7. Remove the parchment paper and pie weights, and bake the tart shell for an additional 10 minutes, or until set and dry to the touch. Remove from the oven and let cool completely.
  8. Once the tart shell has cooled, spread the raspberry jam evenly over the bottom of the tart.
  9. Arrange fresh raspberries on top of the jam in a decorative pattern.
  10. Dust the tart with powdered sugar before serving.
  11. Slice and enjoy with your gal pals, savoring each bite and celebrating the sweetness of friendship.

Galentine’s Day is a time to honor the incredible women in our lives, celebrate the power of female friendship, and indulge in a little self-love. Whether you’re gathering for a brunch, a spa day, or a movie night, the most important thing is to spend quality time with your gal pals, creating cherished memories and strengthening your bonds.
